BRIDLINGTON INDOOR BOWLS
BOWLING OPEN AS FROM 1ST SEPTEMBER 2009
Bridlington Leisure World reopened its doors to the indoor bowling hall on Monday 1st September. Unlike in previous years, Leisure World will now be managing the bowls hall as a public facility.
Bowls is a highly social activity which can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of what level of skill they wish to aspire to. Some members enjoy just casual play and a drink with friends while, some enjoy competitive league matches against other members.
Indoor bowling is now offered as a membership under the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Sure Card Scheme at a cost of £50.00 and a £2.00 charge for a locker key (between 1st September 2009 and 31st August 2010 or any part thereof). Social Bowling is cost at £2.40 per hour for non-members and £2.00 per 2 hours for members with refundable £10.00 deposit for equipment hire if required. The bowling hall comprises of a fully equipped 4 rink green and is open 7 days a week from early till late, 8.00am to 9.00pm, Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 5.00pm on the weekends. The bowls hall lanes can be booked 7 days in advance by phoning Leisure World and in person at the reception desk.
We welcome all age groups and despite popular belief, you don't have to be 'past your sell by date' to play. As a very friendly centre we would be delighted if you come and find out for yourselves what an enjoyable pastime bowling is. We are also proposing to arrange some competitive Bowls Leagues for members which will be organised separately to social bowling. The times and dates for the Leagues are yet to be confirmed but we are hoping to start these in late October. Players wishing to play in the leagues must all be bowls members and the cost for entering the League will be £5.00 per player, per league entered.
Whatever your motives for taking up a new activity, be it meeting new people, taking regular exercise, competitive sport, we can meet your desire with any or all of these.
